Nigerian small and medium enterprises, SMEs, struggling with inconsistent cash flow now have a new solution to streamline their payment collections.
A financial technology company, OnePipe, has launched PaywithAccount, a direct-from-account payment solution designed to automate and simplify payment processes for businesses.

For many SMEs in Nigeria, delayed payments remain a major challenge, disrupting operations and stalling growth. Whether it’s schools grappling with overdue tuition, logistics firms awaiting driver remittances, or cooperatives struggling with contributions, inefficient payment systems have long been a roadblock to financial stability.

According to a PwC report, 48% of Nigerian MSMEs experience payment delays, with 33% suffering severe consequences. Traditional collection methods, reliant on manual invoicing and high transaction fees, only add to the stress of business owners.

PaywithAccount eliminates these hurdles by allowing businesses to collect payments securely and automatically from customer bank accounts—without the need for cards, manual reminders, or complex reconciliations.

Industry leaders applaud the innovation

Speaking on the launch, OnePipe CEO, Ope Adeoye, emphasized the company’s commitment to empowering Nigerian businesses: “Small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy, yet many struggle simply because payments are difficult to collect. With PaywithAccount, we’re giving businesses the financial stability they need to focus on growth, rather than chasing payments.”

Executive Director at Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement Systems, NIBSS, Ngover Ihyembe-Nwankwo, highlighted the broader impact: “This is another example of how innovation, interoperability, and collaboration can drive financial inclusion and improve Nigeria’s digital payment landscape.”

Real-world impact: Businesses share their experience

For many business owners, PaywithAccount is already proving to be a game-changer.

Mrs. Olumide Ashade, Founder of King’s Court School, Lagos, shared her experience: “As a school owner, my focus should be on my students, not chasing payments. PaywithAccount helps us manage installment payments seamlessly, making tuition collection stress-free.”
Similarly, Adedeji Olowe, Founder of Lendsqr, emphasized its role in the lending sector: “Reliable repayment is crucial for lenders. We’ve helped many transition from debit card collections to PaywithAccount, ensuring loans are repaid on schedule.”

A new era of hassle-free payments for SMEs

With PaywithAccount, Nigerian SMEs can say goodbye to late payments, reduce financial uncertainty, and take control of their cash flow—allowing them to focus on what truly matters: innovation, growth, and customer satisfaction.
