The Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) is organizing a Regional Space-Tech Hackathon in Yola, Adamawa State, from February 24 to 28, 2025.
The event aims to engage and empower young Nigerians to develop innovative solutions using satellite technology.
The hackathon will bring together university students, local innovators, and young professionals from the six states of the North-East region. Participants will undergo V-SAT training and work on identifying community problems that can be solved using space technology.
The winning teams will transition into the NIGCOMSAT Accelerator Programme cohort 2025, where they will refine their solutions and receive mentorship and resources to bring their products to market.
The hackathon is designed to promote sectoral growth, raise awareness about the role of satellite technology, and foster economic and social impact.
The event is co-hosted by the Adamawa state government in collaboration with NIGCOMSAT Ltd.
