Nigerians can now elevate their video call experience on WhatsApp, as Meta introduces an exciting suite of new features aimed at making video calls more engaging, fun, and personalized.
The newly launched features include a variety of filters and backgrounds designed to add a creative and expressive touch to video conversations.
Whether users are looking to brighten up a call with playful effects or create a more polished, professional atmosphere, the new tools are here to enhance every interaction.
With 10 filters and 10 backgrounds to choose from, users can easily personalize their video calls. The filters offer a range of moods, from the warm tones of “Warm” to the retro vibe of “Vintage TV” or the artsy look of “Prism Light.” Backgrounds, on the other hand, allow users to transport themselves to different virtual settings, such as a cozy living room, a bustling café, or a tranquil beach. For those looking for a simple, clean look, the Blur background option provides a professional touch by subtly obscuring the surroundings.
In addition to these visual enhancements, Meta is introducing “Touch up” and “Low Light” options, which allow users to improve the brightness and clarity of their video calls. The “Touch up” feature naturally enhances appearances, while the “Low Light” option ensures that even in dim lighting, users can enjoy a vibrant video experience.
Accessing these features is easy. During any 1:1 or group video call, users can simply tap the effects icon at the top right corner of the screen, select from the filters and backgrounds available, and enjoy a more personalized conversation.
These new features will begin rolling out to all WhatsApp users globally over the next few weeks, transforming the way people connect via video on the platform.
