Gender gap: Women must key into emerging tech opportunities – Adeoti

…Says expanded mindsets, fearless approach required

The CEO of Digital Agency platform, WebsiteChic, Mayowa Adeoti have charged women to key into emerging opportunities in the technology industry to address the persistent gender gap.
Adeoti made the call at “The European Technology Chamber and Women in Tech Alliance’s virtual event, “Tech SheRo: Leadership Vs Mentorship for Women in Tech held recently.
Adeoti who was one of the panelists at the event urged women to proactively step into the spotlight by expanding their mindsets and fearlessly approach the industry.
She said: “There is a pressing need for women to assert themselves by sharing their expertise and creating diverse avenues for engagement.”
Emphasizing the dynamic nature of the tech landscape, she highlighted the importance of embracing emerging opportunities to foster growth and participation in the sector.
Also highlighting the transformative impact of networking platforms and training opportunities, she noted: “These initiatives play a pivotal role in enabling women to access mentorship programmes, contributing to their professional development in the tech industry.
“The significance of continuous learning cannot be overemphasized. Women need to stay curious, expand their mindsets, and fearlessly approach industry leaders for mentorship.
“The tech industry’s current phase is rife with interesting phenomena, presenting an ideal time for women to learn and grow.”
While advocating for mentorship, Adeoti called upon mentors to actively promote and share their experiences.
She also urged them to create more opportunities for engagement and establish platforms that encourage greater representation of women in the tech sector.
The virtual event garnered attention from aspiring and established women professionals in the tech industry, providing them with a unique opportunity to gain profound insights, network with industry leaders, and chart a course for their success.
